​Our Story​

bakedbyimaan started in my parents' kitchen with a tiny budget, a few basic supplies, a whole lot of ambition from a student who was just trying to figure it all out.

I never really knew what it would become.

What started as me baking cakes on the side slowly became a business, and somehow, that little business grew alongside me.

Through physiotherapy school, exams, late nights, busy seasons, quiet seasons, mistakes, lessons, celebrations, disappointments and a LOT of cake.

There have been moments where I've felt like I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, and moments where I've looked at what I've built and thought, wow... I actually did this.

And I think that's why this next chapter feels so special.

Because I'm not the same girl who started baking in her parents' kitchen anymore.

I've grown. And the business has grown with me.

So it's time for it to grow again.

Now we are "cakecollective"!

Why cakecollective?

bakedbyimaan was the first chapter. cakecollective is the next.

cakecollective is more than just a bakery name. Collective represents all the different parts of my journey that came together through baking: my business, my studies, the people I’ve met, the lessons I’ve learned, and the person I’ve grown into along the way.

Cake has always been about more than dessert. It brings people together, marks milestones, celebrates the little things and becomes part of memories we keep.

Cake was the beginning. Collective is everything it became and everything it is still becoming!

A new name.  A new look.  A fresh chapter.

​

Not because I'm leaving everything behind but because I'm taking everything I've learned with me.

The old chapter will always be a part of the story. It gave me the foundation, the lessons, the memories and the courage to keep going.

At the heart of it, though, nothing has really changed.

I still want to make really good cake.

I still want you to open your box and get excited.

I still want your cake to feel like you.

And more than anything, I still want to make people happy.

So here's to the next chapter.

Our Philosophy​​

We believe cake should be fun!

Whether it's a birthday, a big milestone, a little celebration or simply a “I deserve cake” kind of day, we believe there's always a reason to celebrate.

We make cakes that are made to look good, taste even better, and feel completely you. From simple and understated to bold, colourful and a little bit extra, every cake is made with care, creativity and a whole lot of buttercream.

We care about the little details, but we don't believe cake needs to be complicated. We believe in good cake, good design and giving you something that makes you genuinely excited to cut into it.

Because at the end of the day, it's just cake, but it's also never just cake. It's someone's birthday. Someone's graduation. A new job. An anniversary. A surprise. A little win. Or sometimes, just because.

And we think those moments deserve to be celebrated. To the fullest!
